reCOMPOSE 042: Lightroom Series #3 Masking

This is a special episode of the reCOMPOSE podcast, in this episode we continue our Lightroom series with episode #3 where Andy and Juan discuss masking in Lightroom. One of the most often repeated comments we hear from people who don't have much experience with Lightroom is that LR does not offer the "Layers" most people are accustomed to using in Photoshop. Well keep in mind that the reason to use layers in photoshop is to work around the fact that Photoshop is a destructive editor by default, where as Lightroom is a non-destructive editor, so the need for layers is greatly diminished. Additionally Lightroom has it's own version of layers and that is what the masking feature is all about. Take a listen to this episode and learn about the great masking features in Lightroom.

We don’t always have all the answers, but if we don’t we will research it and try to give you the best answer we can. So what have you got to lose, go ahead and send in your questions to us at contact@recompose.photo.
